NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON DATA ANALYSIS USING SPSS

On 5th and 6th April 2018, the Department organized a National Workshop on Data Analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics. Research Scholars, faculties and students from different instiutions gathered and the session was handled by Dr. Rajesh P, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur.

TALK ON SUSTAINABLE TOURISM FOR DEVELOPMENT

Highlighting the need and importance of developing the tourism sector in India a talk was organized by the Commerce Department in association with the Tourism Club on the topic ‘Sustainable Development for Tourism’. the resource person was Mr MC Dileep Kumar, the vice chancellor of Sri Sankaracharya University Of Kalady.

TALK ON WOMEN SAFETY AND EMPOWERMENT

The department of Commerce in association with the women cell organized a talk on Women Safety and Empowerment highlighting the problems faced by women in society these days on 19th January 2018.The talk was headed by Sri Ananthalal, Circle Inspector, Central Station, Ernakulam

TRAINING CUM INTERACTIVE SESSION AND FIELD VISIT

The students of 1st M.com participated in training cum interactive session and field visit at Wonderla Kochi on 18/1/2018. The session continued till 11:30am from 9.30am. Training session was undertaken by the staff in Guest Relations Department. The session was very informative and fruitful.

INTERNATIONAL KNOWLEDGE SUMMIT

Department has conducted an international knowledge summit as part of AIKS 2018 On January 9th 2018. South Korean Professor Dr Jaedong Kang has inaugurated the session and gave a talk on GST and its impact on exports and imports. Sri. Shibu John Asst. General Manager(Finance), Cochin Shipyard dealt with technical session on ‘Challenges in Tax Regime’. A paper presentation competition was also conducted in afternoon session and same was chaired by Dr. Elsamma Joseph, Retired Professor, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. Cash prize and medals awarded to the winners of paper presentation.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Students of second year Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and tax has conducted their Industrial Visit to Lakshmikoil Tea factory in Peerumed as a part of their ‘Entrepreneurship Development and Project Management’ curriculum on 9th December 2017

INAUGURATION OF THE COMMERCE ASSOCIATION, ALUMNI MEET AND SOUVENIR RELEASE

On 25th of August, 2017, in the presence of the alumni, faculty and the student representatives ‘The Commerce Association’ for the year was inaugurated. The souvenir ‘golden bliss’ which represents the 50th year of Department was released by Rev.Fr Joseph Sherin, the Asst. manager. An alumni meet also conducted on the same day.

SYMPOSIUM ON GST

On 1st August 2017, a symposium on GST was held in collaboration with Department of Economics and the same was led by Dr. Martin Patrick, Chief Economist CPPR, Mr. Shibu John Asst. General Manager Cochin Shipyard, Mr. Raja Sethunath, Chairman Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Ms. Neelima Valsan,Chartered Accountant.
A handbook on GST “ ONE NATION ONE TAX” prepared by Dr . M C Dileep Kumar( former VC Sree Sankara University, Kalady) and our faculties Mrs. Rosalind Gonzaga and Mr. Sarath Chandran M C has released on same day.

A ROAD MAP TOWARDS TRAFFIC RULES

On 27th July 2017, a talk on traffic rules was held and the same was led by Mr. K G Samuel, Deputy Transport Commissioner Ernakulum and Mr. Dileep Kumar, Regional Transport Commissioner, Ernakulum.

Workshop on Research Methodology

A national level workshop on Research Methodology by Dr. R Kasilingam, Asso. Prof., School of Management Studies is organised by the department on 7th and 8th April, 2017

Albertian International Mini Marathon

As part of Golden Jubilee, Department of Commerce is conducting a International Mini Marathon on 23rd April , 2017 at 6.00 am. Flag off venue and finishing point: St. Albert’s college.
